Homemade Siomai
Here is what i did tonight, it did take time wrapping it but made easier because my niece helped me do it.
This homemade siomai is so affordable and easy to do. I have list down the ingredients that i used. This are the basic ingredients only and you can add shrimp and chestnuts but it is optional.
Homemade Siomai
2 1/2 lbs ground pork
5 tbsp sesame oil
1 tbsp ground black pepper
1 cup onion, minced
1 cup carrots, minced
1/2 Celery
1 1/2 cups white mushroom, minced
1 pack won ton wrapper
1/4 cup scallions, minced
2 tsp salt to taste
1 Pack Oyster Sauce
1 piece raw egg
Water for steaming
Cooking Procedure:
Combine all the ingredients, make sure it is well mixed, except for the water and wanton wrapper and mix thoroughly.
Wrap the mixed ingredients using the won ton wrapper.
Steam the wrapped siomai for 15 to 25 minutes, using steamer. The time depends on the size of each individual piece.
Serve hot with soy sauce and calamansi for dipping.
This is what i ate for dinner without rice, so yummy and good!
I did enjoy this and I am sure you will to. This is easy to do, It might take time doing it, but its all worth it.
Chow!
