International Women’s Day Celebration, marks the Achievements of Women!

Century Old Celebration marks the Achievements of Women!

March 8th is the celebration of International Women’s Day.  International Women’s Day remembers the accomplishments of women, in all different parts of every culture.

The United States very first celebrated a national Woman’s day in 1909. Right after an International Women’s conference occured in 2010, and International Day was founded in 1911.

And I read on how that all took place according to source, let me just share it with you:

In 1910, a second International Conference of Working Women was held in Copenhagen. A woman named a Clara Zetkin (Leader of the ‘Women’s Office’ for the Social Democratic Party in Germany) tabled the idea of an International Women’s Day. She proposed that every year in every country there should be a celebration on the same day – a Women’s Day – to press for their demands. The conference of over 100 women from 17 countries, representing unions, socialist parties, working women’s clubs, and including the first three women elected to the Finnish parliament, greeted Zetkin’s suggestion with unanimous approval and thus International Women’s Day was the result.

Last year it was celebrated in over one hundreds countries all over the world. It was in the year 2000, International Women’s Day becomes an official holiday in countries like Afghanistan, Cambodia, Laos, Cuba, Kazakhstan, and Zambia. Some of these countries, International Women’s Day is popular in a fashion very much like Mother’s Day.

Nowadays, a great deal of the special event has spilled up to social media. And even though not every individual is enjoying the political and social meaning of the day completely, they are continually honoring women in general.
